Welcome to the website of our mid-life gap! We are back in Ireland after spending half a year in France and Italy (and Ireland!) as WWOOFERS. You can look up exactly what that is on the web, but basically we exchanged labour in return for food and lodging for an organic farm. We started all this in June 2004, renting out our house and spending the summer getting ready for 6 months in Europe. We left Ireland on the 5th of November and were in Italy for about 4 months, then a brief holiday in Croatia before going back for more WWOOF type experiences in France and then back to Ireland, where we WWOOFed a bit more before getting back into our house. We always hoped to travel with our children and are thrilled to really be doing it. We have made this website to share our experiences, partly so that families (with or without children) can see it really is possible to travel, farm, and just take time out from normal life, even with 4 kids and a dog! As this is a public website, we've not included names, photos or details of our kids, but we hope you still get a good flavour for our adventures reading our travel log. We hope you enjoy it.
